Director

Rob Lewis has directed over fifty productions for the stage over the last twenty years.  He holds a BFA in Drama from New York University where he studied musical theatre and an MA in Directing from Roosevelt University where he discovered his passion for theatre for social justice.  He had the fortune to train with company members from LookingGlass Theatre, Goodman Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Company, and with individuals such as Linda Lavin, Eric Stern, Vanessa Stalling, Marvin Hamlisch, and Deb Margolin. Rob has directed and devised musicals, plays, devised pieces, and variety shows in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.  His process centers on connecting to the truth of action, dissecting the moment, unearthing narratives and bringing out the wonder in the story and the magic of humanity. He values exploration and craftsmanship and depends on the creative work of others to sculpt impactful performances.  Born and raised in the Bay Area, he lives with his husband in San Francisco.
